A WordPress theme that doesn’t look modern, doesn’t come with built-in flexibility, and with a developer that doesn’t support it can spell trouble for you down the line. Your website’s…
The life of a designer (or an editor, for that matter) can at times be summed up in these words: the search for stock goes on. That search can also get expensive. And that’s fair. These things take a lot of work to make. The skill and time required to take and edit good photos, […]
Freepik is an international collective of designers that creates hundreds of stock items every day. They have over 1,400,00 of them in total. Each and every one of those items, whether it’s a vector, PSD, icon, or photo, is free for you to download and use as you wish. This includes commercial usage.
All you have to do is credit the author.
If you’d rather not include links all over your site, and that can be a real concern, you should check out their fantastically-priced Premium plan. For $9.99 USD per month — or $7.50 USD a month if you pay for the whole year in advance — you get more downloads per day, access to over 13,000 premium graphics, an ad-free experience, and attribution is not required.
Here are some examples of what they have:
In addition to their stock site, the team behind Freepik has built two other incredible projects:
Firstly, we have Flaticon, which is a massive library of icon packs. There are a wide variety of both free and premium icon packs for download in PNG, SVG, EPS, PSD, and BASE 64 formats. Found an icon pack you like that doesn’t have the icon you need? Icon packs can be sorted by style; so you can can mix-and match packs to get what you need.
The requirements for using the free icons are the same as on Freepik, and the prices for the Premium plan are the same too.
Then there’s Piktab. Piktab is a Chrome extension that will set you up with a new home page. Every time you open a new tab, you’ll see the day’s featured free stock resources. You can choose to have vectors, photos, videos, and tutorials shown to you for some quick inspiration. These resources come from a wide variety of different sites, including Freepik, Flaticon, Graphicsfuel, Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, Spoon Graphics, Tutsplus, and a lot more.
Freepik has something for everyone, and you can download all of their stuff for free to try it out, so why not give it a look?
