Amazon shoppers, brace yourselves: the app just got a major makeover!
Some users are reporting that when they open the Amazon app now, they’re greeted by a surprise—no navigation bar, and, even more shockingly, the iconic Amazon logo is gone! Nowhere to be seen…
Instead, when opening the app, they’re first greeted with a clean splash page with the Amazon logo that briefly appears, followed by the familiar homepage with a big, bold search bar sitting at the top (but no logo and no navigation bar).
Also, after you search for an item, a sleek back arrow pops up next to the search, letting you jump back to the homepage with ease.
The design is definitely cleaner, but it’s also leaving some users scratching their heads. Is this just a test before a full redesign rolls out, or is Amazon bidding farewell to the navigation bar (and maybe even the logo)?
This change could be part of Amazon’s ongoing efforts to streamline the user experience and boost performance. After all, most companies are constantly experimenting with tweaks to improve conversions, so this might be a part of a bigger play to simplify the app.
And hey, maybe it’s a sign of the times: just a few days ago, we discussed how logos might be becoming less crucial in the digital age. Could Amazon be leading the charge in logo-less design? Only time will tell!
Either way, it seems that the app may be getting a fresh look—whether you’re a fan of the new minimalism or not.
Stay tuned to see if this experiment becomes the norm.
